Leadership

  • Mark Moore
    Senior Pastor

Pastor Mark began his ministry at Lakeside in December of 1989 just one year after the church was planted. He is the only pastor to have ever served as the young church had a couple of interim pastors the first year. He is married to Elaine Osborn Moore where they met at John Tyler High School in Tyler, Texas. They played a four hour game of billiards on Elaine’s pool table. The reason it took so long was that the table sloped badly to the south! It was during those four hours that set off a relationship of dating for five years before they were married.

Mark graduated from John Tyler High School, Tyler Junior College, and University of Texas at Tyler; Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; and Tyndale Seminary.

Elaine graduated from T.K. Gorman High School in Tyler. She would have graduated from Tyler Junior College but they never would save her a parking place so she wasn’t able to attend class very often.

In 1976 they had a beautiful baby girl born to them. Lannie graduated from Canton High School, Austin College, and received her MBA from Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. She currently resides in New York City, NY. She served as the Executive Director of the Railroad Street Youth Project for seven years in Great Barrington, Massachusetts helping high school students find their “sweet spot” in life.

In 1981 Philip Mark arrived to join the Moore family. He graduated from Canton High School and Dallas Baptist University. He married Holly “an Aggie” Hoyer and they currently live in Dallas, Texas with their African Lion Hound “Hunter.” Philip is employed with Apple Computer and Holly by Neiman Marcus.

The first grandchild was born on February 11, 2014. Isaac Mark Moore has absolutely stolen Pastor Mark’s heart. However, it is Pastor’s (known as “Buddy” to Isaac) commitment not to become the obnoxious grandparent and turn every conversation or sermon into – “Let me tell you about my grandchild!” Then his first granddaughter, Thea Ruth (godly faithful servant) was born on December 1, 2015

Mark and Elaine served at First Baptist Church in Dayton, Texas as Minister of Education and Youth; First Baptist Church of Humble, Texas as Minister of Education/Administration/Evangelism and First Baptist Church of Corsicana, Texas as Minister of Education and Administration. Mark served as pastor of his home church in Tyler for a short period of time. He learned from that experience that sometimes you just can’t go home!

Living in Canton has been such a blessing to our family. The people of Canton and Van Zandt County have proven they have such a heart for the things of God. Pastor Mark firmly believes that we have been blessed to be a blessing to others. God is an abundant God and He is extravagant in His love for us. Thinking BIG is such a vital mind set in serving the Lord. I agree with David Platt when he states: “I doubt very seriously that I will one day stand before the Lord and have Him say to me; ‘You should have kept more for yourself.” What a joy it is to give yourself away each and every day for the cause of Christ.

  • Mike Calhoun
Associate Pastor of Discipleship & Missions

Mike Calhoun is our associate pastor of Discipleship and Missions at Lakeside Baptist. Mike is a former pastor of 24 years and had been on staff at Lakeside since June of 2013. Mike has listed one of his favorite quotes from the 18th century Methodist preacher John Wesley who said:

“Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.”

  • Joe Zinkgraf
    Student Minister

Joe grew up in New Braunfels, Texas. Being the youngest son in a family of seven, he was greatly influenced by the godly environment he was raised in. When he was 6 years old he made a decision to trust Christ, and has been learning the depth, priority, and joy of that relationship ever since.

Joe has been schooled at home, in public, in private, and on a basketball court (with the help of his older brothers). Graduating high school from New Braunfels Christian Academy, Joe continued his education by pursuing a Bachelors & Masters of Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University, and a Masters of Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

On February 21st, of 2010, God opened the door for him to join the ministry at Lakeside as their minister to students. Joe & his wife (Meagan) have two boys named Judah & Mac. Every new day, the Zinkgraf’s have grown to see the blessing and faithfulness of the Lord. What a joy it is to see & participate in His work!

Random Facts:  Joe is colorblind, cannot do the number “3” on his left hand (ask him to show you), his favorite sports to play are basketball and volleyball (GO SPURS GO!), Indiana Jones are the movies he watches most (although John Wayne & classic Disney are close behind), enjoys hunting in the duck blind, and does the majority of his shopping on Amazon.com!

  • Noah Lyons
    Worship Leader

Noah Lyons and his wife Courtney joined our team in September 2015. Noah grew up in a pastor’s home, and trusted the Lord as his Savior at the age of 9. He attended Baptist Bible College, in Springfield Missouri, where he received his BA in Music. Noah has been involved in full time ministry for the last 5 years in Missouri. Noah and Courtney met in church, and attended College together in Springfield MO. They were married in May of 2012.

Noah’s goal for the Worship Ministry at Lakeside is that we would be a worshipping people, compelled by the desire to share the Gospel. I hope and pray that our city would see our worship lived out in the way we serve, give, and display the Gospel on a daily basis.

In his spare time Noah enjoys, writing and arranging music, playing board games, old cars, a good movie, and spending time with friends!
